AUSTIN, TEXAS – Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, was reappointed as a voting member to the State’s Judicial Committee on Information Technology (JCIT), which she has been serving on since 2013. The mission of the JCIT is to establish standards and guidelines for the systematic implementation and integration of technology in Texas’ trial and appellate courts.
“It has been an honor to serve on the JCIT and I look forward to continuing to work alongside my esteemed colleagues in proposing and developing policy recommendations and efficient statewide standards based on the technological needs of the judiciary in Texas,” said Hinojosa
The JCIT provides an open forum for collaboration with all partners in the judicial system including attorneys, judges, clerks and local county governments. Working with partners such as the County and District Clerks’ Association of Texas, the Texas Association of Counties and the Conference of Urban Counties, JCIT is able to provide direction to courts with regard to technology.
The success of the State’s judicial technological capabilities and advancements, including eFileTexas, are due to the collaboration of the JCIT and its partners.
