EDINBURG, Texas – Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, was presented with the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) Service Award today by Susan Redford, TAC Executive Director, for her dedicated service as a member of the TAC Board of Directors for the 2024 calendar year.

“You have a superstar amongst you here,” said Redford. “We are fortunate enough to have Ms. Hinojosa serve not one stint on the TAC Board of Directors, but she was so effective and so well respected by her peers that she was appointed to come back for another year last year. We were grateful to have her and to have Hidalgo County’s voice at the table. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Ms. Hinojosa for her service on behalf of the County & District Clerks’ Association and for her leadership Statewide, not only for the association but on behalf of all county officials.”

The TAC Board of Directors, which acts as the governing body for the association, represents the interests of all Texas counties by setting policy, overseeing the organization’s budget, and advocating for county needs to state officials, essentially serving as the voice of county governments in Texas on legislative and policy matters. Laura previously served on the TAC Board of Directors in 2019-2020.
