EDINBURG, Texas — Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, and six of her administrative staff members participated in the National Association of Counties (NACo) High performance Leadership Academy (HPLA), a 12-week online program that empowers front-line county government employees with fundamental leadership skills. The district clerk employees graduated from the program in December 2021 and now form a part of the 4,500 county employees that have enrolled in the Academy since 2018.
Academy graduates include Laura Hinojosa, Nilda Palacios, Adriana Garcia, Sabrina Guerra, Oneida Lamas, Stephanie Palacios and Ricardo Contreras.
The Professional Development Academy consists of a robust curriculum developed in partnership with Fortune 1000 executives, public sector leaders, world-renowned academics and thought leaders, including General Colin Powell and Dr. Marshall Goldsmith and was designed specifically for the unique challenges and opportunities of serving in county government.
“I am extremely proud of my administrative team for the time, work and effort they invested in this leadership program, while still fulfilling their day-to-day duties and responsibilities,” said Hinojosa. “We are excited to use and implement the knowledge and skills that we have learned to more effectively lead our team through challenges and opportunities, in addition to celebrating team successes.
