WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) released the statement below following her vote to pass the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act to reopen the government after the 43-day shutdown.
“After 43 days of the shutdown, I voted to reopen the government, restore SNAP for millions of families, pay our federal workers, and invest over $6 million in our Texas communities. It’s time to get back to our work on the priorities of the American people, including expanding affordable housing options and making life more affordable again.” – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz
Background:
The Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act funds the government at current levels through January 30, 2026, and appropriates funding for SNAP, military, and Veterans Affairs through FY26.
Additionally, De La Cruz secured the following investments for community project funding for Texas’s 15th Congressional District:
$2,450,000 for the City of Alamo Public Safety Building
$3,250,000 for the Live Oak County Public Safety Facility
$1,000,000 for the City of Premont Water Well Revitalization
