WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (R-TX) introduced the Pay Our Border Patrol and Customs Agents Act. This critical legislation will ensure U.S. Border Patrol agents and Office of Field Operations Officers continue to be paid during a potential government shutdown in FY2025.
This critical legislation is co-sponsored by Reps. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), Nancy Mace (R-SC), Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Morgan Luttrell (R-TX), John Carter (R-TX), Thomas Kean (R-NJ), Lance Gooden (R-TX), Scott Franklin (R-FL), Dan Newhouse (R-WA), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), Rob Bresnahan (R-PA), Tony Gonzales (R-TX), Michael Guest (R-TX), Brandon Gill (R-TX), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA).
“Border Patrol Agents go above and beyond to ensure our communities are protected and our border is secure. Under President Trump’s leadership, Border Patrol Agents can fully carry out their duties and, as a result, are reporting historically low numbers of illegal crossings. We cannot let politics jeopardize their hard-earned paycheck. With the upcoming funding deadline, the bipartisan Pay Our Border Patrol and Customs Agents Act will ensure agents and officers continue to be paid during any potential lapse in government funding.” – Congresswoman De La Cruz
