WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) released the statement below following her election to Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Women’s Caucus. She will serve alongside Congresswoman Emilia Sykes (OH-13) to carry out the Caucus’s longstanding mission of advancing bipartisan policies that improve the lives of women and families across the country.

Reps. De La Cruz and Sykes take over from Reps. Kat Cammack (FL-03) and Susie Lee (NV-03), who led the Caucus during the 118th Congress.

“I am honored to be elected Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Women’s Caucus. At a time when families across America face real challenges, it is more important than ever to work across party lines to find meaningful solutions. I look forward to leading the Caucus alongside Congresswoman Sykes to support policies that empower women, strengthen families, and create greater opportunities for all.” – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz

“As the representative for one of the most bipartisan congressional districts in the country, it is an honor to be handed the gavel as the Co-Chair of the historic Bipartisan Women’s Caucus. It is as vital as ever that members of both political parties come together to enact real change for the American people. Just over half of all Americans are women, yet we make up less than 30% of the House of Representatives. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing women across the political spectrum to make sure that women and girls are not left behind by our government.” – Congresswoman Emilia Sykes
