The City of McAllen announced today that actor and cultural icon Danny Trejo will headline this year’s McAllen Holiday Parade, presented by H-E-B and powered by Bert Ogden Auto Group. Trejo will join Santa Claus and other celebrity guests for the highly anticipated event on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The announcement was made during a press event hosted by L&F Distributors, a longtime community partner and parade sponsor. This year’s theme, “Christmas Across America,” will feature a new lineup of giant character balloons, illuminated floats, and special guests for one of Texas’ most beloved holiday traditions.
“Danny Trejo’s story is one of strength, resilience, and perseverance, and we’re proud to welcome him to McAllen,” said City Commissioner Pepe Cabeza de Vaca, District 6. “Our parade has grown to become a signature event that brings joy to families across the Rio Grande Valley and beyond.”

The City unveiled the parade’s newest addition: the Giant American Eagle Balloon, a larger-than-life symbol of the “Christmas Across America” theme. “This new balloon is a beautiful reflection of what this parade is all about unity, joy, and celebration,” said City Manager Isaac “Ike” Tawil. “Every year, we challenge ourselves to make the McAllen Holiday Parade more magical. This year’s celebration will be one of the most spectacular yet, and we’re grateful to our partners who help make it possible.”
Tickets for the McAllen Holiday Parade and Opening Extravaganza are officially on sale at McAllenHolidayParade.com. Fans can purchase VIP Tickets for $35, Preferred Seating for $20, and General Admission for $10.Premium sections sell out weeks in advance, and this year’s lineup is already generating a lot of excitement.”
Organizers also launched the next Santa’s Christmas Adventure Giveaway, where one lucky winner will receive an L&F Cooler, a 4-pack of McAllen Holiday Parade tickets, and a Nashville souvenir prize pack. Contest details are available on the official McAllen Holiday Parade Instagram and Facebook. A grand prize trip to Nashville will be announced later this season.
