MISSION — Today Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28) congratulated the students graduating in the coming weeks from the following colleges and universities in Starr and Hidalgo counties:

“I congratulate the students graduating from the colleges and universities in Starr and Hidalgo counties,” Congressman Cuellar said. “The past years of study you have invested in your future will pay off in innumerable ways. Not only will they open doors of opportunity for you in your career, but they will make your mind richer and strengthen your character. Although no one in my family had ever attended college, I found support in my family, friends and educators to be the first generation in my family to get a college degree. I now have five advanced degrees, which tremendously helped shape the quality of life for both myself and my family. Education is the great equalizer in our society, and I applaud you for your hard work and dedication. As you embark on the next stage of your life, take the lessons you have learned in the classroom and out, from professors and classmates alike, as a foundation on which you can begin to build your life.”
