Washington, D.C.– Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX28) announced that the Border Trade Alliance and the South Texas Property Rights Association have endorsed the Humane Act, legislation jointly sponsored by Rep. Cuellar and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) to address the border crisis.
The Humane Act would:
- Treat all unaccompanied minors equally under the law
- Provide a fair and timely hearing before a judge for minors who have a claim
- Provide resources for Texas humanitarian relief, border security, and ports of entry
