San Luis Potosi, MX –McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos, Commissioner District 4, Rodolfo “Rudy” Castillo; Commissioner District 6, Pepe Cabeza de Vaca, and City Manager Isaac J. Tawil along with McAllen officials participated in an economic development forum “Industria con Sentidos”. This forum, hosted by the San Luis Potosi Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona and Secretary of Economic Development, Jesus Salvador Gonzalez Martinez, was a platform for discussing key economic sectors and fostering collaboration between McAllen and San Luis Potosi. It was held at the Centro de las Artes in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
The program highlighted key sectors such as energy, sustainability, cross-border mobility, trade, and regional economic development. The event featured automotive industry leaders and government officials who shared their challenges and vision for the North American automotive supply chain, which relies on parts and components flowing between the US, Canada, and Mexico.
“With the expansion of Anzalduas Bridge for cargo operations this year, we are actively seeking and fostering collaborations between the public and private sectors. These efforts aim to improve cross-border operations, reduce delays, and safeguard the supply chain for an efficient crossing of goods,” said McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos.
As part of today’s program, City of McAllen and the State of San Luis Governor, Ricardo Gallardo and officials continued discussions in areas of cooperation, such as trade facilitation, investment promotion, and cross-border business development, to strengthen the economic ties between the two regions.
The City of McAllen continues expanding its presence and business connections internationally to drive economic advancement, incentivize binational trade, and enhance employment opportunities for the RGV residents.
“Establishing a partnership with San Luis Potosi will greatly enhance trade opportunities and provide a solid foundation for continued collaboration, maximizing the capabilities of the Anzalduas Bridge. This collaborative approach is a promising step towards a more efficient and resilient commercial landscape” stated City Manager Isaac J. Tawil.
