EDINBURG, TX – Over the weekend, Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector (RGV) agents arrest three sex offenders and a gang member.
McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents working in Havana, Texas, arrested a 38-year-old male traveling within a group of migrants comprised of mostly families. Records checks identified the Guatemalan national as a sex offender arrested in 2002 for sexual abuse of a minor, a third-degree felony. The migrant was convicted and sentenced to two years’ probation.
MCS agents apprehended a group of 18 single adults shortly after they illegally entered the United States. Among the group, was a Honduran national convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a victim between 13-15 years of age in Minnesota. The 35-year-old migrant
Fort Brown Border Patrol Station agents arrested a Nicaraguan man within a group of seven subjects after they illegally entered the United States. The 33-year-old migrant was arrested in 2008 in Ventura, California, and charged with sex with a minor more than three years younger. He was convicted and sentenced to ten days in jail and 36 months’
Border Patrol Station agents arrested six migrants in the brush attempting to circumvent the checkpoint. Records checks revealed a Salvadoran man as a confirmed Latin Kings gang member. The subject had multiple previous removals from the United States.
Border Patrol processed all subjects accordingly.
