RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – UT Health RGV starting Friday, Nov. 5 will offer pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5 through 11.
The CDC on Nov. 2 approved the Pfizer vaccinations for that age group.
Parents/guardians interested in getting their 5- to 11-year-old children vaccinated may want to consult with their pediatrician or family physician before making an appointment.
Dr. Michael Dobbs, UT Health RGV chief medical officer, said UTRGV is ready for this next step in the vaccination process.
“We’ll be providing safe and effective COVID vaccinations for our pediatric population,” he said. “This is a very important step in controlling this pandemic.”
