EDINBURG, Texas – Judicial proceedings and other courthouse activity will be suspended to the public for one week beginning Monday, March 24, 2025, to accommodate the transition into the new courthouse. This means that both the old and the new courthouse will be closed to any public access.

Judicial filings will continue to be accepted electronically by both the county and district clerk’s offices, but the public will not have physical access to either office.

This suspension of activity, which is scheduled to last through Friday, March 28, will allow movers and courthouse personnel to finalize the process of moving from the old courthouse into the new facility.

Workers will be on hand the weekend before and after this suspension of courthouse activity to expedite the move, which includes the transport of historic and sensitive documents as well as the movement of personnel.

A soft opening of the new courthouse is scheduled for Monday, March 31, at which point building functions and processes will be checked with the presence of a public.
