EDINBURG, Texas — The County of Hidalgo launched a website, hidalgocountyarpa.com, today to allow constituents to follow its use of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, view published reports and track its activities.

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act was passed into law to provide relief to the economy and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The bill supplied Hidalgo County with $212,973,405 in recovery funds to alleviate the economic and public health effects of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

The new Hidalgo County ARPA website acts as the foundation for the program’s mission to maintain transparency and accountability to constituents regarding how the county uses ARPA funds. Additionally, the Hidalgo County American Rescue Plan Act website is available in English and Spanish.

Updates regarding projects will be made as soon as information is available and finalized by the Hidalgo County Commissioners Court. The county will also publish ARPA news and developments on Hidalgo County’s social media pages.

Hidalgo County will continue to report ARPA fund usage on its website to inform constituents of its efforts to support public health and address long-standing health and economic disparities worsened by the pandemic. Monthly reports, quarterly reports and interim reports will be shared as part of the county’s commitment to transparency to the Hidalgo County constituents.
