WASHINGTON – The Weslaco Mid Valley Airport was awarded an $850,000 federal grant to construct two new hangars and extend its runway and apron, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn announced today. The funding comes through the Economic Development Administration (EDA), which anticipates this grant will support 10 new jobs.
“These funds will be used to expand the Weslaco Mid Valley Airport,” Sen. Cornyn said. “Quality transportation services are vital for boosting local economic growth, and I commend both the Trump Administration and leaders in the Rio Grande Valley who worked to secure this funding.”
Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas, is a member of the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees.
