WASHINGTON – Hidalgo County, Texas will receive three federal grants totaling $9,853,196 to expand economic opportunity, increase the supply of affordable housing, and assist people in finding permanent housing. The funding comes through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant, and HOME programs.
“These funds will help develop a part of the country that’s growing by leaps and bounds,”said Sen. Cornyn. “It’s encouraging to see that the Trump Administration recognizes the growth in Hidalgo County and is working to help fund its development.”
