WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34)released the following statement reaffirming his strong support for Israel by championing H. Res. 771 – Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.
“On October 7th, 2023, the nation of Israel was brutally attacked by Hamas terrorists. Their indiscriminate murder, torture of innocent civilians, and taking of hostages can only be described as sheer evil. To date, this heinous attack has claimed thousands of lives and will have untold impacts on the region for years to come.
“With this resolution, the U.S. House of Representatives, in near unanimity, makes it clear — America stands with Israel. We not only condemn the barbarity of Hamas, but we affirm that Israel has every right to protect its citizens, maintain its sovereignty, and defend itself against attacks as reprehensible as those recently committed. Although I cannot be there to vote on this bill due a death in my family, I am proud to be one of the 425 Members of Congress to have signed this resolution and to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our ally. I pray that we see a return of all hostages and an end to the violence soon.”
