MCALLEN, Texas – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) hosted a press conference with Dr. John H. Krouse, Dean of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Medicine on federal coronavirus (COVID-19) response efforts in the United States today at the UTRGV International and Trade (ITT) Building.Â
Congressman Gonzalez discussed recent federal action and Congress’ response to the virus, preparations for COVID-19, ways to prevent the virus and any additional important information for the public and 15th District of Texas to know.Â
This follows the House and Senate passage of $8 billion in emergency supplemental appropriations to combat the coronavirus and meetings with Vice President Mike Pence and other federal health officials on national response efforts. The president signed the bill into law on Friday, March 6.
