McAllen, Texas – Methodist Healthcare Ministries and Texas A&M School of Public Health are hosting a community conversation to present the findings from the two important studies they launched together in April 2022. The two-year studiesexamined arsenic and other toxic contaminants in residential drinking water sources within colonia communities along the Rio Grande border.Through these studies the next generation of citizen scientists were trained, and a love of learning science was cultivated among students in South Texas.

Presenting on Thursday will be Garett Sansom, DrPH, Taehyun Roh, Ph.D., and Lindsay Sansom, Ph.D. from Texas A&M School of Public Health.Additionally, Jaime Wesolowski, President & CEO of Methodist Healthcare Ministries, which funded the study, will provide remarks on importance of the the research and the next steps the findings prescribe.
