Community Engagement remains strong for Border Patrol

EDINBURG, Texas — Last week, Border Patrol showed community engagement throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

On April 11, 2019, the Raquel Peña Elementary School invited Brownsville Border Patrol Border Community Liaison (BCL) Team as readers. Border Patrol Agents read students a children’s book and informed them of the roles and responsibilities within the United States Border Patrol.

The next day, the Mariano Gonzalez Elementary Schools invited Brownsville Border Patrol (BRP) Border Community Liaison (BCL) Team as guest speakers for “Career Day”. Border Patrol Agents told the students how to apply and the requirements needed to become and United States Border Patrol Agent.

On Saturday, Kingsville and Corpus Christi Border Patrol agents proudly represented the Border Patrol at the South Texas Council Boys Scouts of America Scout Expo in Kingsville, Texas. Certified EMT border patrol agents tested boy scouts on their CPR skills. Agents also displayed USBP vehicles such as ATVs and UTVs as many participants enthusiastically posed for pictures.
