Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez began Commissioners Court by recognizing county employees who are veterans in honor of Veterans Day Nov. 11.
“As we prepare to celebrate Veterans Day next week, it gives me great pleasure to be able to recognize Hidalgo County employees who have served in the Armed Forces,” said Cortez.
Veterans Service Officer Felix M. Rodriguez read out the names of each individual employee, thanking them for their service and sacrifice to our country.

“November 11th of each year is the day that we ensure that our Veterans know that we, as Americans, deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made to keep our country free and our flag flying high,” Cortez said. “Thank you all.”
