Hidalgo County Commissioners Court approved funding in the amount of $50,000 towards the Children’s Advocacy Center, also known as Estrella’s House.
Section 381.004 (f) of the Local Government Code states:
“The Commissioners Court of a county may support a Children’s Advocacy Center that provides services to abused children.”

The community-based nonprofit has been serving county children and families affected by abuse or neglect for 19 years.
Funds from the county will be used to provide services to children and their families in need.
