McAllen Commissioner for District 1, Javier Villalobos announced that he will be seeking the office of Mayor for the City of McAllen.
Villalobos congratulated and thanked Mayor Darling for his many years of service. “Jim has proudly and diligently served our great city as an attorney, Commissioner, and Mayor.
His successor has big shoes to fill,” Villalobos said.
Villalobos is a local attorney representing District 1. He has been representing governmental entities for more than 20 years. He has been appointed to state agencies by both Governors Perry and Abbot. He also served as the Hidalgo County Republican Chairman.
“I want to put my knowledge, experience, and skills to continue improving our community and assisting our constituents. I want to continue to diligently protect our constituents’ interests in a fiscally conservative manner,” Villalobos said.
