Edinburg, Texas — On Monday, September 23, 2024, just before 9 a.m., the Edinburg Police Department responded to a collision involving two semi-tractors at the intersection of Monte Cristo Rd. and Trooper Moises Sanchez Blvd. One of the trucks was carrying a load of grease, raising concerns about potential hazards and the complexity of the cleanup.
Officers quickly closed the lanes surrounding the intersection to manage the situation and conduct a thorough investigation. While both vehicles involved were large, no major injuries were reported, which was a relief given the scale of the collision.
The Edinburg Fire Department was called to the scene to assist with the safe cleanup of the grease spill and to ensure no immediate environmental threats. Their swift action helped secure the area and successfully carried out cleanup efforts. However, the roadway remains closed while the investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
