City of Pharr to Host Inaugural Independence Day Festival on Saturday, July 1

Admission is free and parking is free. Mayor Hernandez and the Pharr City Commission are expected to take the stage at approximately 8:30 pm to personally welcome attendees and families. The live fireworks display will launch at 9:50 pm.

Pharr, Texas – Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, MD, and City of Pharr officials are pleased to announce the City of Pharr will host its inaugural Independence Day Festival on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 6 pm to 10 pm at Dr. William Long Elementary (3700 Raiders Drive) in Pharr. 

The Independence Day Festival will include a variety of entertainment and family activities to celebrate America’s independence, with musical performances and live entertainment from Drew and the Dance Hall Dreamers, River Rock 7 and featuring headliner Buckin’ Crazy. The festival will have food booths showcasing tasty and traditional American cuisine, fun kiddie rides, and a special introduction of Pharr’s very own hand-crafted beer by Big River Brewery.

Other activities of interest include the opportunity to “Dunk the City Manager,” with City Manager Juan Guerra. You get three chances for your $1.00 donation that benefits the Pharr Police Athletic League (PPAL).
