Peñitas, Texas – In the true Texas spirit of helping our neighbors in need, the City of Peñitas has been hosting a disaster relief drive for victims of Hurricane Harvey. City officials announce that they have partnered with Fox Packaging to send a semi-trailer filled with the donated items from community members directly to those affected by the devastation, flooding and loss of property from Harvey and its aftermath.
The city invites the local community to help “Fill the Truck” with new donated supplies and materials to help hurricane victims. Items needed include paper goods, cleaning supplies, snacks, beverages, socks and undergarments, hygiene products, baby items, ready-to-eat food, and new blankets, among others. See attached flyer for more information.
Donations will be accepted until 9 am on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at City Hall (1111 Main St. in Peñitas). City officials invite the community and the media to join them for a prayer and official send-off at 10 am.
