SAN BENITO — The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of San Benito for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year, which ended September 30, 2020.
“The City of San Benito has received this prestigious award for nine consecutive years,” said Finance Director Belen Pena. “The award is a reflection of the City’s efficient and excellent management of the City’s finances. It further exhibits the City’s commitment to the community by providing oversight and transparency of the City’s finances.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a
significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
