The Board of Commissioners of the City of Pharr met for a regular meeting on Monday, May 15, 2023, where City officials were officially sworn-in to office.
Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. Sworn-In to Third Term
Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. was sworn into his third term in office by Pharr Municipal Court Judge Juan Villescas. “I want to thank my wife Cristina, my son Joseph, all my family friends, and supporters who have been on this positive journey with me,” said Mayor Hernandez. “I congratulate everybody and thank you for joining us today as we work to continue to move Pharr forward,” he added. Mayor Hernandez has led the City of Pharr into a significant period of growth, progress, and innovation. Under his leadership, the city has seen millions in new funding from the state and federal levels, implemented national models of success, and continues to move Pharr towards new milestones for the benefit of all Pharr families.
Michael Pacheco Sworn-In as New Commissioner for Place 1
The Pharr City Commission began its meeting with the official swearing-in of newly elected officials and incumbents. Michael Pacheco, the new Pharr City Commissioner, Place 1, was administered the oath of office by Hidalgo County District Attorney Terry Palacios. “I’m very honored to serve as your new city commissioner and I know this wouldn’t be possible without the support of my wife, family, and everyone who supported my campaign each and every single day,” said Commissioner Pacheco. “Thank you again for all your support and I look forward to working together to continue to make Pharr a better place for our families,” said Pacheco.
Ricardo Medina Administered Oath of Office as Commissioner for Place 5Â
Pharr City Commissioner, Place 5 Ricardo Medina was administered the oath of office by 92nd District Court Judge Luis M. Singleterry. “I’d like to thank each of you for being here today, especially my wife Minerva, my granddaughters, and my son who are here with me,” said Commissioner Medina. “I appreciate all the support of everyone who helped us with our campaign,” he added.
Itza Flores Sworn-In to Second Term as Commissioner for Place 6
Pharr City Commissioner for Place 6, Itza Flores was sworn into her second term in office by City of San Juan Municipal Court Judge Nereida Lopez-Singleterry. “Thank you to everybody for being here, it means a lot to each one of us,” Commissioner Flores said. “We are here to help the city and we are excited to move forward and to continue making progress in our city, for you!”
