PHARR, Texas – The Pharr City Commission approved a proclamation declaring April 2026 as Fair Housing Month, recognizing the importance of ensuring equal housing opportunities for all residents. The proclamation highlights the significance of the Federal Fair Housing Act and encourages the community to support efforts that promote fair and inclusive housing across all neighborhoods.
The recognition was presented alongside board members and staff of the Pharr Housing Authority. Pharr Housing Authority Board President Mario Lizcano shared that the organization currently serves over 3,200 residents in the City of Pharr and expressed appreciation for the team’s continued dedication. “Thank you to our Pharr Housing team and Interim Director Lazaro Guerra for continuing to meet the needs of our city and for working with our residents to provide a community for our families,” said Lizcano. He also thanked Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez and the Pharr City Commission for their continued support and leadership.
