PHARR, Texas – The City of Pharr is proud to announce a new partnership with the Museum of South Texas History (MOSTHistory), marking a significant step toward preserving and celebrating the city’s cultural and historical legacy. The Partnership Agreement, approved by the Pharr City Commission through a resolution, will focus on educational programming, guided tours, community outreach, and historical data initiatives that highlight Pharr’s unique story within the broader history of the Rio Grande Valley.
“Pharr’s story is one of resilience, growth, and unity,” said Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. “Our city’s deep roots are woven into the history of the Rio Grande Valley, and this partnership with the Museum of South Texas History allows us to proudly share and preserve that heritage for future generations.”

Through this partnership, Pharr residents and students will have the opportunity to enter the museum at a discounted rate (with proof of ID or utility bill) and engage with dynamic programs, including curriculum-based workshops, public exhibits, lectures, and interactive experiences. Together, the City of Pharr and MOSTHistory will also collaborate on research and data collection to document the city’s historical and cultural evolution, ensuring its story continues to inspire future generations.

Flores. “Together with MOSTHistory, we’re creating opportunities that honor our past, inspire civic pride, and open pathways for education, volunteerism, and workforce growth in the arts and humanities.”
The agreement between the City of Pharr and MOSTHistory will be in effect from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, with both institutions working together throughout the coming year to create public exhibits, guided field experiences, and volunteer opportunities that support education, workforce development, and cultural enrichment.
