McAllen, TX – This holiday season, McAllen is set to shine brighter than ever with the highly anticipated South Pole Illuminated Festival, presented by H-E-B. The City of McAllen is thrilled to introduce a brand-new, dazzling feature: the Driscoll Electric Parade. This luminous spectacle will make its debut at the festival, bringing an electrifying holiday spirit to the community every Friday through Sunday night at the South Pole Illuminated Festival.
A highlight of this year’s festival, the Driscoll Electric Parade is not a typical parade. Attendees can expect to be awed by vibrant drumlines, dancers lighting up the night with energetic moves, and a series of glowing floats that glide through the streets. The centerpiece of the parade will be the whimsical ‘Trompitos’ – specially designed, spinning floats that illuminate and evoke a sense of wonder, inspiring joy for all ages.
In keeping with the holiday spirit of giving, the Driscoll Electric Parade will make a special stop at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. This visit is planned to bring festive cheer to the young patients and their families, offering them a memorable experience filled with light, joy, and holiday magic.
The South Pole Illuminated Festival will run from November 29 to December 29, 2024 providing a full month of immersive holiday experiences for families and friends. The City of McAllen invites everyone to come witness this unforgettable celebration of light and community spirit.
“We’re lighting up McAllen with something extraordinary this season,” remarked McAllen City Manager Isaac Tawil. “The Driscoll Electric Parade is a symbol of our community’s commitment to spreading joy and creating lasting memories for everyone, from our families to the amazing kids at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.”
