That event, originally known as PalmFest, underwent a name change last year and was held earlier in the year to coincide with an important Mexican holiday.  It was re-introduced as a cultural celebration with a focus on what a makes a festival a truly great event: live music, food, adult beverages and entertainment for all.

To prepare for the festival and re-branding, McAllen City planners launched extensive social media outreach, TV, radio and print campaigns and kicked off the event with a festive press conference. The first ever Fiesta De Palmas, which featured partnerships with other major media and corporate partners helped draw a record attendance of 45,000 visitors over the two-day event and created a $2.3 million economic impact for the City of McAllen last year. The City of McAllen is proud of their first-ever nomination.

The EAMC conference, held each year across the U.S. and Canada, hosts hundreds of industry leaders focused on sharing talent, expertise, and insight with fellow brand marketers. Finalists are selected by a panel of industry professionals and winners will be announced during a live awards ceremony during the EAMC Awards conference June 13 in Toronto.
