LAREDO, Texas — The City of Laredo recognized two important city employees for their outstanding achievements. These awards are presented under the City of Laredo Employee of the Quarter Program in accordance with Ordinance No. 2021-0-014. The city employees received their recognition as the employees of the 4thquarter of 2021. Members of the Laredo City Council extended their congratulatory messages to the recipients, acknowledging their utmost sense of responsibility by encouraging them to continue their hard work, which has not gone unnoticed by their supervisors or their peers, and expressing gratitude for their service to the City of Laredo.
Jose G. Moreno:
A member of the Laredo Fire Department, Mr. Moreno has served for almost 29 years in the department. His disposition is a perfect example of what first responders should be. He has filled various positions throughout several divisions within the department. He is currently a unit driver and has been an important key member, helping the department excel, never hesitating to assist. Mr. Moreno’s outstanding performance is a motivation for all current and future firefighters. LFD Chief Guillermo Heard, Deputy Fire Chief, Silvestre Rodriguez, Jr., and Deputy Fire Chief Christopher A. Perez describe Mr. Moreno as an outgoing and hardworking employee, authentic, and reliable person who works with a positive attitude and has great customer service skills. He has been assigned to the Fire suppression administration; some of his duties are: logistical services, operational preparedness, and fleet maintenance. For these and many other virtues, Jose G. Moreno is Employee of the Quarter.
David A. Alegria:
David Alegria has been employed under the Public Information Office for over a year. Currently, Mr. Alegria has been relocated to the City Manager’s Office on a temporary basis to assist Mayor Pete Saenz. Regardless of the amount of time that Mr. Alegria has been employed with the City, his talents and skills have been noticed throughout different departments at City Hall, especially on the third floor. David Alegria is considered to go above and beyond to serve and he is always willing to assist. As a City employee, he makes sure that all his tasks are taken care of and he does this with a positive view. Mr. Alegria’s ability to adapt so quickly to a new position demonstrates his work ethic.
