LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo hosted a ceremony in honor of Arturo Elizondo, CEO & Founder of the EVERYTM Company, presenting him with the Key to the City at City Hall Council Chambers.
A world-wide accomplished Laredoan who previously co-founded Clara Foods in 2014, served under Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Credit Suisse. He holds a degree in Government & Comparative Politics from Harvard University.
Throughout his journey, Arturo’s vision to develop animal-free proteins as a cheaper and more sustainable resource, has granted him important mentions and placed him highly in the national charts, including Forbes’ 30 Under 30, GreenBiz’s 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders, San Francisco Business Times’ 40 under 40, Smithsonian Magazine’s “Ten Innovators to Watch”, one of “10 Latinos who inspire the United States” by BBC World News, the 2019 Person of the Year by the National Hispanic Institute, and a founding member of Newsweek’s Expert Forum.
Based in San Francisco, California, the EVERY Company focuses on the development of animal-free egg whites that can be used for baking, nutrition, and the industrial use of the first bioidentical pepsin, which can be used in pharmaceuticals, as vegan alternatives with this ingredient.
For Elizondo, the industrialized animal agriculture, the consequences that it entails and the impact that it has on our planet, is one of the reasons that motivated him to pursue this journey. His innovative and entrepreneurial spirit has led him to pursue this challenge and his perseverance that was apparent since a young age.
During the ceremony, in which Elizondo’s family, friends, and former teachers gathered, many spoke about the incredible mission that Arturo Elizondo has embarked and, most importantly, the learning experience and example that he sets for our local youth. As a result of his achievements and for representing Laredo across the country and the world, Elizondo was honored with the Key to the City.
