HARLINGEN, Texas — The City of Harlingen’s Community Development Department is proud to announce expanded assistance for local veterans through funding from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA). The grant supports two key programs; Housing for Texas Heroes and General Assistance, that provide housing repairs and financial relief to eligible veterans, dependents, and surviving spouses in Cameron County.
“These programs are part of our city’s ongoing commitment to honor and support the men and women who have served our nation,” said Mayor Norma Sepulveda. “We want to ensure that every veteran in Harlingen has access to safe, stable housing and the resources they need to thrive.”
