Edinburg, Texas—To ensure that all City of Edinburg facilities operate efficiently as the community continues to grow, construction at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which is Phase 1 of the proposed wastewater improvements, began with functional upgrades in mind.
The project will expand the existing plant from 12.3 millions of gallons per day (MGD) to 13.5 MGD. With construction already underway, there will be four primary activities related to
Phase 1: |
1) The construction, repair, and upgrade of liquid treatment processing units, |
2) The construction, repair, and upgrade of sludge processing units, |
3) Site work to improve plant functionality, |
4) Demolition and removal of abandoned facilities. |
