EDINBURG, Texas – Batter up! The City of Edinburg is excited to announce the completion of six state-of-the-art turf fields at Edinburg Municipal Park. Players and sports enthusiasts alike will soon be hitting home runs at the city’s newly updated diamonds, with the ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 10 a.m.
City staff will host the event at 714 S. Raul Longoria Road. Fields 1-4 and Fields 7, 8, and 9 now feature all-weather turf, adjustable bases, and a drainage system, bringing the total to seven turf fields available at the park. The $2 million project, funded by the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, began on June 3, 2024.
Residents and media members are encouraged to join the city in celebrating its newest addition. The ceremony will also be streamed live on the City of Edinburg’s Facebook page and Spectrum Channel 1300.
