EDINBURG, Texas – The City of Edinburg invites our community to join us in celebrating our yearly National Day of Prayer this Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at 6 p.m. at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard (415 W. University Drive).
National Day of Prayer was designated by the United States Congress in 1952 and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Like Thanksgiving or Christmas, this day has become a national celebration that unites Americans from all socio-economic, political, and ethnic backgrounds in prayer for our nation. National Day of Prayer belongs to all Americans as it is a day that transcends differences, bringing together citizens from all cultural and faith backgrounds. This year’s theme is ‘Lord, Pour Out Your Love, Life, and Liberty’ and in promotion of equity, diversity, inclusion and unity we will be led in prayer by various religious leaders reflective of Edinburg residents and their faiths.
National Day of Prayer is a free event open to the public and we invite everyone from all faiths to come together to celebrate. We hope to see you!
This event will observe all COVID-19 Safe guidelines to ensure the safety of all in attendance. Masks must be worn except while eating.
