Restlawn Cemetery, nestled in the northwest corner of Hillcrest Cemetery, holds an abundance of Edinburg’s historical significance as the final resting place for Edinburg’s African American community since its establishment in 1928. Recognized as a historical site by the Texas Historical Commission in 2007, a marker adorns the premises, symbolizing its cultural significance. Approximately 60 individuals rest peacefully at this historical site.
