EDINBURG, Texas– The City of Edinburg is proud to announce Alexis Ramos as the Guest Curator for their 2021 Women’s Art Exhibit. Ms. Alexis Ramos is a distinguished graduate of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the aforementioned university. Her work draws inspiration from her childhood in the Rio Grande Valley and many of her sculptures, installations, paintings, illustrate cultural homeopathic remedies and treatments.
It is because of her work and connection to the local culture that she was considered the perfect candidate to curate our 2021 Women’s Art Exhibit. This exhibit, which runs in conjunction with our 2021 FridaFest festival, is meant to highlight the empowering work of local Rio Grande Valley female artists. We are excited to see Ms. Ramos’ curated selections display the talents of the various female artists located in Edinburg and across the valley!
The exhibit will be located at the Dustin M. Sekula Library from June 22nd to August 5th, with an artist discussion happening in conjunction with FridaFest on July 10th at 7 PM at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium located at 200 N. 7thAve. Another great event brought to you by the City of Edinburg’s Library & Cultural Arts Department.
