Edinburg, TX— To continue to provide state-of-the-art facilities for sports enthusiasts across the community, the City of Edinburg will add six artificial turf baseball fields at Edinburg Municipal Park. Te event has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts. We will see you updated.
City staff will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 of the Municipal Park Turf Field Project at 714 S. Raul Longoria Road. The first phase focused on Field 2, which now features all-weather turf, adjustable bases, and a drainage system. Phase 2 will oversee the renovations of the three fields adjacent to Phase 1 and the three youth fields located on the north side of the park.
Construction will begin the day of the groundbreaking ceremony. The $2.3 million project, funded by the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, is estimated to be completed in February 2025.
Residents and media members are encouraged to learn more about the project by attending the event on the south side of the park at the adult baseball field. The ceremony will also be streamed live on the City of Edinburg’s Facebook page and Spectrum Channel 1300.
