WHY: The City of McAllen Health & Code Enforcement Department is hosting a Texas Department of State Health Services-Food Safety Training for both industry and regulators. School district food safety personnel; city and county food inspectors and regulators; restaurant owners and food service personnel; and retail food industry representatives are encouraged to attend this free training. The training will provide the required continuing education units for this industry certification.
“This is a great opportunity for local folks in the retail food preparation industry to get their necessary continuing education credits here locally and for free,” said Steven Kotsatos RS, Director, City of McAllen Health & Code Enforcement Department. “It is key to be well-informed and exercise consistent safe food-handling activities to help diminish the risk of getting sick from contaminated food.”
