Pharr, Texas – Patio del Puente, a subsidiary of Commodities Integrated Logistics (CiL) is an import-export logistic service company focusing on the cotton industry in the United States and Mexico and now to Asia.
Patio del Puente, now open in Pharr, is located on a strategic piece of land to fill a need for international trade. The new location sits on the corner of Cage Blvd. and Military Road one step away from the Pharr International Bridge.
Patio del Puente is a new addition to the city of Pharr, the vision and dream of Joaquin Spamer. Pharr Mayor Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez, thanked Spamer for choosing Pharr. “We know you could’ve chosen any city, as many would love to have you for your vision, your passion, and the fact that the Ci Logistics is a growing and thriving company, contributing to our economy, not only in the local market but on a global level,” stated Mayor Hernandez.
Spamer said he is pleased to have accomplished something he had set out to do since last year. “One of the major goals of the business is to be able to reach markets fast, and this location will help us achieve just that.”
He continued, “Our company is dedicated to the distribution of cotton bales from the U.S. mainly Texas, to Mexico; in fact, we also started delivering to the Far East thru the Port of Pharr. In Mexico, we reach major cities like Puebla, Torreon, and Tepeji all in the Republic of Mexico, as fast and competitively as we can.”
Spamer mentioned that his company is always looking for opportunities to improve and move the commodities as effectively and efficiently as possible.According to Spamer, the property was there ‘likea coin lying on the floor’; he saw the value and acquired the land. He proceeded to renovate and build the necessary infrastructure to make it work.
Since the property is in a strategic location, they would be able to achieve and provide faster service to their multiple markets if compared to 2017.
Spamer is not new to the city of Pharr. Back in 2006, he invested in a property to develop an industrial park and later sold it. After that, he built a strip center which he still owns. He credits the city of Pharr for his successful business ventures. “We have not lost money doing business in Pharr,” he stated.
For years, Spamer has handle warehouses that deal mainly with cotton and thanks to the City of Pharr for always keeping its doors open. “It’s incredible what small business like us can accomplish when a city is looking for a way to simplify things, and it’s incredible what the Mayor has done for us since we started doing business in Pharr,” he said. “The Pharr Economic Development Corp. has provided support as well as the Pharr Chamber of Commerce.”
The Spamer family joined him in the celebration, and he mentioned his two sons, Patricio and Joaquin, asking them to“continue and finish what he has started.”
Patio del Puente will be the logistics location for CiL, which will facilitate and prepare documentation to expedite shipments of cotton bales to other countries.
“We have offices, we have meeting rooms, we have an entire staff to serve everyone from Patio del Puente,” Spamer said.
To the ceremony attended distinguished guests and friends and among them, Hidalgo Mayor Martin Zepeda; PSJA ISD School Board Trustee and Pharr Economic Development Corporation Director, Victor Perez; Monsignor Roque; STC Dean of Business and Technology Mario Reyna and Rebecca Arizmendi, Director of The Greater Pharr Chamber of Commerce. Among the guests were bankers and business people of the region.
Spamer thanked everyone for joining them in the ceremony and highlighted the staff of Ci Logistics. “They have done a great job,” Spamer finalized.
