Peñitas, Texas – Residents of Salida Del Sol Phase 6 gathered on Monday, April 1, 2024, to celebrate the activation of newly installed street lights along Circle 6 Street. The event, which took place on Monday, April 1, 2024, marked a significant milestone for the community, showcasing the successful collaboration between residents and local authorities.
The project, led by Hidalgo County Precinct 3 through Hidalgo County’s Unincorporated Subdivision Street Lights Program, saw the installation of 10 new street lights, enhancing safety and connectivity for residents in the area.
Speaking at the event, Hidalgo County Commissioner Everardo Villarreal emphasized the importance of public lighting and the value of collaborative efforts between the county, community members, and community organizations such as LUPE. Commissioner Villarreal stated, “Access to adequate lighting is essential for the safety and well-being of our residents. The successful activation of these street lights is a testament to what can be achieved through partnership and community-driven initiatives.”
