EDINBURG, TX – On Saturday, July 6, 2024, Texas Cook’Em: High Steaks in Edinburg will host the Sizzle & Stripes Firework Show, presented by H-E-B, at Ebony Hills Golf Course, 300 W Palm Dr. Thousands of Edinburg residents and visitors are expected to gather for this annual celebration, featuring an exciting lineup of musical performances, attractions, and the largest steak cook-off in the Rio Grande Valley.

Renowned Texas Country artists the Josh Abbott Band, will headline the evening, with Hudson Westbrook as the opening act. Additionally, RED, a tribute to Taylor Swift, will ensure an unforgettable night of music. Tejano fans will enjoy performances by Mesteno & Friends DRAFT Musicand Delta Boys.
Thrilling Attractions
Beyond the stellar musical lineup, Texas Cook’Em High Steaks offers a wide range of exciting attractions, including a kids’ fun zone, Firecracker 5K, and a variety of food and craft vendors. Adding to the excitement, the Freedom SkyDive Jump will feature skilled skydivers soaring over the event grounds with an American flag to celebrate Independence Day weekend.
Cook-Off to Award $20,000 in Cash Prizes
BBQ Cook-Off: The prestigious BBQ cook-off will crown the 2024 BBQ Champion. BBQ enthusiasts from across the state will showcase their skills, competing in categories including chicken, ribs, brisket, and rib eye steak. The grand champion will earn a coveted ticket to the 2025 American Royal, the world’s largest championship BBQ cook-off, along with a $20,000 purse. The H-E-B Steak Challenge Champion will also secure a spot in the Steak Cook-Off Association World Championship cook-off in 2025.
