CBP Officers Seize Over $290K In Cocaine At Laredo Port Of Entry

LAREDO, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers assigned to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge seized cocaine that totaled over $290,000 in street value.

“Narcotic interdiction continues to be a key component in the CBP border security mission,” said Port Director Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “This seizure demonstrates the result of our officers’ diligent work and dedication to stopping dangerous drugs from crossing the border.”

The seizure occurred on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, when a CBP officer referred a vehicle for secondary inspection. Following a canine and non-intrusive inspection system examination, CBP officers discovered a total of 21.86 pounds of alleged cocaine within the vehicle.

The narcotics had a combined street value of $292,005.

CBP seized the narcotics. Homeland Security Investigations special agents are investigating the seizure.
