MISSION, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Anzalduas International Bridge apprehended Jesus Maria Velazquez Guerra, a male Mexican citizen and lawful permanent U.S. resident from Lasara, Texas wanted for indecency with a child.

“CBP is committed to bringing those wanted individuals in to face their day in court, especially those wanted for heinous crimes such as sexual offenses against children,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.

On June 26, 2022, 77-year-old Jesus Maria Velazquez Guerra arrived from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge and a CBP officer immediately secured him after discovering Velazquez was a possible match to an arrest warrant. Once in secondary, biometric verification confirmed his identity along with the active arrest warrant from Willacy County Sheriff’s Office. Velazquez had an outstanding warrant stemming from allegations from an incident earlier this month. He is charged with two counts of indecency with a child, a second-degree felony in the State of Texas.
