Capstone Scholars RGV Presents A Night In Las Vegas

The nonprofit organization Capstone Scholars RGV, in partnership with Communities in Schools, Hidalgo presents its inaugural event “A Night in Las Vegas” where the community and distinguished educational leaders will come together in support of final year in high school students enrolled in the Capstone programs and currently completing their end-of-year projects.

We invite you to enjoy a night of poker, lively entertainment, hor d’oeuvres, and champagne while assisting us in providing scholarships to deserving students, as well as help with college admissions fees, entrance exams, and financial aid.

Join us Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Texas Card House in 403 W Trenton Rd. Suite 2-B, Edinburg, Texas from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Investing in these young professionals will give them the opportunities to attain useful skills for higher education, and making sure that Rio Grande Valley students receive the necessary funding to continue their education.

Honorees include Ruben Hinojosa, Former U.S. Congressman; Nereida Lopez-Singleterry, Associate Judge of the Title IV-D Court, Master Court 1; Dr. Shirley Reed, President of South Texas College; David “Gus” Kennedy, Executive Director of Communities in Schools, Hidalgo; Dr. Daniel King, Former PSJA Superintendent; Dr. Jorge Arredondo, Current PSJA Superintendent; Marisela Zepeda, Retired Advanced Academics Executive Director of PSJA; and Yvonne Chamblin, Capstone Teacher at PSJA.

Capstone Scholars RGV is a non-profit organization in partnership with Communities In Schools, Hidalgo in which final-year high school students enrolled in the Capstone programs are provided with a scholarship to assist in completing their senior year projects as well as helping them with college admissions, college entrance exams, and financial aid opportunities.

Our fundamental values are preparing students for college, allowing students the opportunity to attain useful skills for higher education, and making sure that Rio Grande Valley students receive the necessary scholarships to continue their education. By donating to the collaboration of Capstone Scholars RGV and Communities In Schools, Hidalgo you’re assisting students with any college expenses they may have.
