IDEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS – Adventure awaits for campers at this year’s Camp RIO summer camp, beginning on Sunday, June 2. Camp RIO, located in Brownville, TX, is an outdoor, adventure-based camp that provides all campers with a wide range of fun activities. The summer camp theme this year “Summer Olympics” and will be open to children ages 5-14.
Activities at the summer camp include archery, canoeing, team building, arts and crafts, sports and skills for children to become the best version of themselves. Children can also enjoy water activities at the swimming pool on site. New this year, campers will be able to participate in pickle ball.
“Camp RIO provides a safe and exciting learning environment for kids over the summer where they can grow and thrive,” said Camp RIO Director Nancy Mance. “The memories and friendships made at camp will stay with our students for a lifetime.”
Summer camps begin June 2 as campers from across the state are invited for the first week of overnight camp. Spots are still open for overnight camps. Day Camp is also open for registration. There are six weeks available between June 2-22 and July 7-27 for one-week sessions. Mini Overnight camp is available to those wanting to try it out for a shorter time. The program is open to all children between the age of 5-14 years.
