The Judge’s Division of Emergency Management and Fire Marshal Service in coordination with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), and multiple humanitarian service organizations such as the American Red Crossand Salvation Army, has opened a Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) serving as a central location to provide disaster recovery information and assistance to connect Cameron County residents that were impacted by the EFl Tornado with disaster-related community resources and agencies.
The DAC will be located at the Port Isabel Event Center, 309 Rail Road Street, Port Isabel, TX 78578, and will beoperational from 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. A shuttle will be available for transport every 30 minutes with pick-up location at the intersection of Van Buren St. & Hwy 100 in Port Isabel. The first shuttle will be available at 9:00 a.m.
The individuals of Laguna Heights impacted by the Tornado are encouraged to attend and speak with representatives from multiple agencies to obtain related information and resources. Texas Gulf Coast Red Cross Region will be participating in the Disaster Assistance Center
WHAT: The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast region will be participating in the Disaster Assistance Center hosted by Cameron County tomorrow to provide information and offer assistance to those who have been affected by the EF-4 Tornado that touched down in the Laguna Heights community Saturday morning.
